Hi Kelly; appreciate you. Logistics question. I trade thru IBKR (Interactive Brokers) and when searching for PSA-F it says cannot find. In search parameters I put in NAME: Public Storage Preferred Shares Series F 5.25%. Then put in contract type Stock. Then symbol PSA-F. Then put in stock type Preferred. Any advice you can give me appreciated. Paul

Sorry, I'm just seeing this. Usually I've found the best way to find preferreds is to type in the company. For some reason every broker wants to format them a little differently. Some are PSAPF or PSAprF. For Schwab and Etrade, typing the company in the search box usually populates a drop down of options and the preferreds will pop up. If you can't find how your broker has them formatted, it's worth the phone call or chat to ask for the best way so you'll be able to find them in the future.

Midwest Boomer?
Nov 20

I don't think this is anything new or related to only 1 generation. I'm a boomer I guess (born in 1963). For the 1st 30 years of my life I expected to die by 60. At 35 with 1 kid, I got to thinking what if I don't die. I started putting a very small amount in my 401k. Not paying much attention to it. Then I started paying too much attention to it and started chopping my returns up by moving too much (usually at the exact wrong times). Thankfully at 45 I got a sizeable promotion and put almost 100% of my raise towards my 401k. I also discovered Mauldin Economics shortly after that. I will retire at the end of next year and if the bottom doesn't fall out of the markets, I should have $1M+ in my 401k. Thank you and all who came before you.
