Another strategy I use frequently is to write cash-secured Put options (CSPs). I use them two ways. For a new position I split my allocated capital in half. With the first half I execute a buy/write wherein I buy 100 share multiple lots long and write covered Calls against them. With the other half I write out-of-the-money (CSPs) with an expiration one to two months out. Since my goal is to try and buy more shares at a lower price I’m usually happy taking assignment if the stock price falls to my strike price. The other time I write CSPs is when I find a stock I want to add to my portfolio but it is currently overvalued a bit. With the combination of a lower strike price plus the premium cash I receive I have a chance of picking up shares at an acceptable price. And the consolation prize is if I don’t get the shares I’ve made premium income far exceeding dividends I might have collected.

You can park your cash in a Schwab account and they pay monthly interest just below the 3 month T-bill.

It's easy for individuals, trusts and companies to set up an account with US Treasuries Direct. I put reserve cash in four 4-week auto-renewing Tbills. Never more than a week from 25% liquidity.

Same comment as Brett. You can get an fdic guarantee yield of 6% with X Money right now and roughly 3% at most other online savings. It won’t give you long term high yield on cost, but with a big pot of money that’s an easy win.

Certainly you use a high yield savings account for the bulk of your cash. You also should use brokers with a high yield sweep account. Fidelity and vanguard both qualify. KMB is a must own at these levels. AI and autonomous machines will eventually improve margins. I will keep adding on weakness.
