Over My Shoulder

The Obama Memos

February 6, 2012

This is a little different from most Over My Shoulder postings. It is a an article from The New Yorker about the decision-making process inside the White House of President Obama. While it did give some insight into his thought process, I was far more fascinated by the organization that it takes to make it all happen, the actual process that is gone through to make policy. Plus the sheer damn hard work. No wonder our presidents visibly age over their time in office. Ryan Lizza writes about the making of Obama's post-post-partisan presidency, referencing hundreds of pages of internal White House memos. This is not economic in nature, but one of the more interesting pieces I have read this past few weeks. Surprisingly even-handed.
